The Sarnia Sting Minor Novice MD Hockey Club lost a heartbreaker at their home rink, the Germain arena, 7-5 to Oakridge. Blake Butler got the Sting on the board first, scoring his 22nd goal of the season in the first period. The rest of the 1st saw the teams battle with both goalies making some outstanding saves. Ethan Langford was tremendous in the net for the Sting.

The second period was tough one for the young squad. Oakridge managed to get three past young Langford. Adam Mino came in and played  excellent making several key saves to keep the Sting in the game. Kaden Babcock scored on a bullet slap shot from the point to get the Sting back in the game. Lleyton Williams scored a beautiful goal to make the game promise to have an exciting 3rd  period.

In the third, the Sting battled back with goals from Blake Butler, and Wil O’Leary-Dilosa, with assists going to Butler, O’Leary-DiLosa, and Tristan Konrad. The Sting made an exciting game battling hard right till the final buzzer to the delight of the home fans. Unfortunately Oakridge proved to be too strong on this day. Connor Antosiak earned himself the “hardest worker” hardhat for playing a strong game defensively.
