LEAMINGTON
The
Sarnia
Legionnaires
scored a
sensational
victory
here
last
night.
Ten
different
players
scored
points
and
goalie
Kyle
Washer
kicked
out 22
shots
for his
first
shutout
of the
season
as the
defending
Western
Jr. 'B'
champions
spanked
the
hometown
Flyers
9-0.
"It was
a nice
win,
head
coach
Jeff
Perry
said on
the bus
home.
The
scoring
was
pretty
well
balanced
throughout
the
lineup.
And
we're
still
shorthanded.
It was a
gutsy
effort.
Rookie
sensation
Jason
Teschke,
playing
in only
his
second
Jr. 'B'
hockey
game,
led the
way with
a goal
and
three
assists.
He was
named
the
first
star for
his
performance.
Teschke
was
called
up from
the Jr.
'C'
Mooretown
Flags,
along
with
Ryan
Hunt, to
plug
holes in
the
Sarnia
roster
caused
by
injuries
and
suspensions.
Hunt
also got
a goal
in what
was his
first
Jr. 'B'
contest.
Jason's
older
brother,
Josh
Teschke,
who has
been
with the
Legionnaires
all
season,
blinked
the red
light
once
(for his
ninth of
the
year)
and
added an
assist.
Another
great
performance
came
from
veteran
Owen
Rogers,
who
scored
the
game's
first
two
goals,
then
added an
assist.
Rogers,
who was
named
second
star, now
has 10
goals on
the
season.
Joel
Steeves,
who was
third
star, also
had a
two-goal
night,
giving
him 13
on the
year.
Others
who
blinked
the red
light
included
captain
Tyler
Cicchini
(17th)
and
Jesse
Drydak
(28th).

For
Washer,
the
shutout
was the
first of
his Jr.
'B'
career.
The win
brought
Sarnia's
record
up to
18-19-6
and
gives it
a share
of sixth
place
with the
St.
Thomas
Stars in
the
Western
Conference
of the
Greater
Ontario
Junior
Hockey
League.
The
Legionnaires
and
Stars
