The Sarnia Legionnaires
held a press conference
at the Sarnia Legion on Wednesday July 15, 2009 to
announce major developments for the team.

Coach Jeff Perry has
named Tyler Cicchini as Team Captain for the
upcoming 2009-2010 season. Perry praised
Cicchini for his positive work ethics and leadership
ability. "Tyler brought his game to a higher
level in the play offs last year and never gave up,
he will be an excellent leader for the players to
follow both on and off the ice" high praises said by
Perry
Perry went on and
announced the addition to his coaching staff for the
upcoming season.

(President), Joe McCormack (Asst Coach), Jeff Perry
(Head Coach), Lee Barnes (Asst Coach),
Bob Williams (General Manager), Blake Morrison (Asst Coach), Mike Bush
(Asst. Coach)
Missing, Larry Lucas, Darryl Knight
Working with the Defence will
be Lee Barnes. Barnes, is a former hockey
player who played for the University of Waterloo and
has also been coaching with Perry in the AAA
organization.
Forward Coach has been assigned to Joe McCormack.
McCormack is no stranger to the game on and off the
ice with his experience as a player with the
Petrolia Jets and several years coaching in Minor
Hockey including the AAA Hockey Association.
Returning to the
coaching staff from last year is Darryl Knight.
Knight, a former Jr A player will be watching the
action from up top during the games.
Larry Lucas will be assisting the team as Goalie
Coach. Lucas comes with many years of OHL
experience and is a former member of the Allen Cup
Champions Petrolia Squires.
Perry also announced additional Staff that includes
Blake Morrison and Mike Bush. Their duties
will include Video Coaching as well as on and off
ice conditioning.
GM Bob Williamson also announced an
additional member to the Legionnaires team - Mickey
Sloot from Lambton College will be assisting the
Players as Education Advisor.
Williamson also
announced the signing of 13 Veterans to the team
from last year (names to be released at a later
date) and an additional veteran coming to Sarnia.
20 year old Joel Steeves will be attending Lambton
College in the fall studying in the Fire School
program. Last season Steeves played in the
Golden Horseshoe Conference for the Conference
Champions Stoney Creek Warriors.
