Ontario Hockey League teams are continuing to turn to the Sarnia Legionnaires for help.

Last night, the London Knights called up big Legionnaire right-winger Jake Unsworth for an important tilt against the Kitchener Rangers.

Unsworth, a 17-year-old Petrolia native, was a plus-one as the Knights clubbed the Rangers 5-2.

The 6'1, 180 pound Unsworth played Jr. 'C' hockey last year in Alvinston, picking up 11 goals and 14 assists in just 35 games. He also had 98 minutes in penalties. So far this campaign, he has one assist in five games with the Legionnaires. He has also been an important physical presence, giving the team extra grit.

Unsworth played in the Lambton Jr. Sting 'AAA' program before being drafted by the Knights in 2008.

He is by no means the only Legionnaire who has seen action in the OHL this season. In fact, Jesse Drydak played in the last Sarnia Sting game, making his third appearance with that club. Legionnaire goalie Jesse Raymond also dressed for that contest.

Other members of the Legionnaires who have played in the OHL, either in regular season or exhibition games this year, include Anthony Donati and Kyle Flemington.

In addition to all that, several members of last year's championship-winning Legionnaire squad have won permanent positions in the OHL this season, including Zack MacQueen, Curtis Crombeen, Craig Hottot and Tyler Peters.

Legionnaires Chase Clark, Tyler Cicchini and Andy Sokol were invited to OHL camps last fall but either didn't attend or didn't make the teams involved.

When it comes to sending players to the OHL, the Legionnaires are believed to be the most successful Jr. 'B' teams in Ontario.
