Dan McCaffrey
Joins the Team!
Retired
reporter Dan McCaffrey has
joined the Sarnia
Legionnaires Jr. B Hockey
Club as team historian and
Media Relations.
McCaffrey has been in the
media business for 37 years
and has interviewed many
greats including Mohammed
Ali. In 1973 he
predicted that a 13 yr old
Dino Ciccarelli would be
playing in the National
Hockey League.
The Legionnaires are
honoured that Dan has joined
their organization with his
gift for writing it will be
well utilized this coming
season as they begin to
celebrate 60 years of Jr. B
Hockey in Sarnia.
Thursday will be the
Legionnaires home opener and
the start of the 60th
Anniversary celebrations.
There is much planned for
the Opening night ceremonies
that include:
Presentation of the Weir
Trophy to the fans
Five eras of Jr. B Hockey in
Sarnia including the Sarnia
Sailors, Sarnia
Legionnaires, Sarnia
Steeplejacks, Sarnia Blast
and the present day Sarnia
Legionnaires.
Members of the Crew of the
HMSC Ville de Quebec, one of
which is an accomplished
opera singer who will be
singing the National Anthem
joined by the Naval Color
Guard from London.
Sarnia Branch 62 Pipe and
drum band and Color Guard.
Festivities
will begin shortly before
7:30 pm.
