Legionnaires Training Camp
The Sarnia Legionnaires
held their main training
camp over the weekend
with 85 players in
attendance. The camp
included many local
players including Steve
Farlow, Jeff Paulley and
Derek Nap.
All in which had very
strong camps according
to Coach Jeff Perry.
Key players returning,
Zack MacQueen, Tyler
Cicchini, Tyler Peters
showed leadership and
should produce good
offensive numbers this
year and lead by
example. The camp
also included 2 players
from Poland and Hungary
who the coaches were
impressed with and will
be further evaluating.
The camp has been
trimmed down to 40
players "and now the
decision get's harder"
said Coach Perry.
"We'll have a better
look at the players at
the exhibition games and
make final decisions".
Also their decisions
will be based on
outcomes at the Junior A
level as several players
will be attending their
camps as well.
Zack MacQueen, Tyler
Peters and Andrew Sokol
will be attending the
Sting camp. Jeff
Paulley will be at
Kitchener, Chase Clark
at London and Kyle
Flemington at Saginaw.
The Legionnaire
practices are open to
the public. Practices
are set for Wednesday
August 19 at 5:00pm
and Thursday Aug 20 at
7:30pm all at the SSEC.
Free admission
The Legionnaires first
exhibition game is
Saturday in Strathroy at
the Gemini arena 7:30
pm. The two teams
will meet again on home
ice on Monday at the
SSEC 7:30. There is an
admission cost,
however season ticket
holders will have free
admission into the
exhibition games. Season
tickets will be
available for sale at
the game.
