Sarnia Lady Sting Midget AA
team had a very promising
weekend of hockey, winning
both of their league games.
Saturday the Sting travelled
to Waterloo to play the
Ravens, who had beat Sarnia
in their previous meeting.
This time Sarnia would
dominate the ice and easily
come away with a 3-0 win.
Goal scorers for Sarnia were
Karly Dobbin, Darian Limb,
and Marlowe Pecora.
Assisting on the play were
Megan Moore, Emily Williams,
Sydney Smith and Amy
VandenEynde with two. Cassie
Kerrigan stood strong to get
the shutout.
On Sunday afternoon the
Sting were home to host the
Stratford Aces. Despite
outplaying their opponents
the game remained scoreless
after the first period.
Early into the second
Marlowe Pecora made a great
move to put one away to open
the scoring. Emily Williams
assisted on the goal.
Shortly after, Marlowe
Pecora would net her second
of the period to put Sarnia
up 2-0. Karly Dobbin and
Sydney Smith both picked up
assists. Still in the second
a scrum in front of the net
resulted in the third and
final goal of the game going
to Darian Adams. Amy
VandenEynde assisted.
Sarnia’s strong goaltending
efforts resulted in yet
another shutout. This time
going to Erica Sullivan.
Sarnia will be home this
coming Saturday for a 4:15
game against the Brantford
Ice Cats. This will be their
first meeting of the season.
Sunday the Sting travel to
London for a 4:45 game.
