The Jr.
Sting traveled to Windsor on
Saturday night to battle their
divisional rivals in the Jr.
Spitfires.
Lambton was looking to get the first
win of league play and came out of
the blocks strong and taking the
play to Windsor. After a number of
good chances the Jr. Sting opened
the scoring with Nash Nienhuis
scoring, going upstairs with a
wrister from the top of the circle.
Getting helpers on the play were
Jared Pageau and Max Steeves with
Ryan Brown who also assisted
screening the Windsor goalie.
Lambton continued to apply pressure
but were unable to expand the lead
in period one.
The
second period was much of the same
with the Jr. Sting carrying the
penalty free play but unable to bury
any of their numerous chances. The
second ended as it started with
Lambton leading 1-0. After the first
penalty of the game the Jr. Sting
were looking to up the lead but
instead gave up a short-handed goal.
Lambton quickly rebounded with Max
Steeves scoring top blocker after a
nice set up by Pageau. The lead was
expanded when Daniel Wellington beat
the Windsor defender wide using his
speed and buried one to give the Jr.
Sting a 2 goal cushion. Windsor made
it a one goal game on the power play
and made things interesting, but
Lambton was able to hold on for a
well deserved 3-2 victory.

Nienhuis, Max Steeves and Daniel
Wellington each had one goal
Jared Pageau has two assists
Max Steeves and Garrett Miller each
