Lambton hosted the Hamilton Reps on
Sunday afternoon at the RBC Center
looking to avenge their loss two
weeks earlier.
The Jr. Sting looked like they were
ready to go and took the play to the
Reps in the first period. Lambton
had a number of good chances, used
the body effectively and controlled
the play for most of the period.
Ethan Williams was required to make
a couple of goods saves to keep the
score knotted at 0-0 after one.
The Jr. Sting again put the pressure
on Hamilton in the second period
forcing their goalie to make
numerous good saves. Many Lambton
players had glorious opportunities
to give the Jr. Sting the lead but
were turned away by the agile
Hamilton net-minder. Late in the
second period Hamilton ended up with
a power play and scored from in
close to make it 1-0.
The third period saw a steady stream
of Lambton players go to the penalty
box and the Reps made it 2-0 on a
disputed goal again on the power
play at the eleven minute mark.
Hamilton scored again late in the
period, once again on the power play
to make the final 3-0.
The Jr. Sting played a strong first
two periods but penalty trouble and
a lack of finish around the net were
both big contributors to the final
score.
Ethan
Williams played well in the loss.
