Point Edward vs Mount Brydges Gold

The Point Edward Novice Blackhawks edged the visiting Mount Brydges Gold Cougars 3-2 in their second game of the season.  The fans were kept on the edge of their seats until the very end!

Both teams battled fiercely in the first period before the visitors scored with 1:38 left in the 1^st period. The Cougars quickly added another early in the second period putting the Point down 2-0.  Point Edward answered with Shaun McDermott making a beautiful pass to Jimmy Simpson in the deep slot. Jimmy one-timed the puck past the Cougar’s goalie with 6:03 left in the second. Shaun McDermott had his second assist of the afternoon in the 3^rd period when he set up Cole Reinders with just under 5 minutes to go. Twenty-eight seconds later, Ethan Pereira scored the game winner after a great pass from Logan Beauvais. Luke Crombeen was kept on his toes in the last few minutes but his defencemen and back-checkers kept the puck away from the net.

Everyone played their hearts out to notch the team’s second win of the season!
