After losing their opening 2 games, the Sarnia Jr. Atom Sting were eager to turn things around this past weekend,

On Saturday, in Burlington, the Sting jumped out to a strong start with first period goals scored Justin Houle and Austin Coutts to build a 2 – 0 lead at the end of the period.  After Burlington narrowed the gap to 2 – 1 in the 2nd period, the Sting responded with 2 more goals by Jake Vince and Matthew Torti to build a 4 – 1 lead after 2 periods.  The Sting were determined to put this game in the win column and scored 4 more goals in the 3rd period by Devin Devooght, Justin Houle, Lucas Ross and Dakota Moore.  Curtis Marks chipped in with 3 assists, Dakota Moore and Brett Allardyce had 2 assists with Max Musico picking up the win in goal.  Final score, Sarnia 8, Burlington 2.

 On Sunday the Sting played their first home game of the season and were able to come up with another win against the London Bandits.  After a slow first period start, which saw the team fall behind by a 3- 0 margin, the Sting took control of the game in the 2nd period scoring 3 goals courtesy of Curtis Marks, Devin Devooght and Dawson Young to tie the game at 3 after 2 periods.  After the Bandits scored to retake the lead, the Sting responded with 4 goals of their own, Dawson Young scoring twice, Jack Smith and Lucas Ross adding singles to take a commanding 7 – 4 lead.  Curtis Marks added 3 assists, Brett Allardyce and Dakota Moore had 2 assists as the Sting held on for a 7 – 5 victory with James Dunn recording his first win in the goal.
