It took overtime for the Lakers to
defeat the Dresden Kings on
Wednesday night at home. The Lakers
gave up a 3 - 0 lead after the first
period. Norm Leger (PP), Wayd
Pitfield and Tyson Isaac each scored
singles for Wallaceburg in the
first.
After the first period Dresden took
advantage of the powerplay and
scored 3 goals. Two were
scored in the second period and the
third goal was scored :27 seconds
into the third period, all on
powerplays. Jim Rouse, Dylan Mertz
and Joe Deboer each scored the
Dresden powerplay goals.
Norm Leger regained the lead for
Wallaceburg midway into the third
only to have Jesse Ferguson tie
things up and regulation time ended
sending the game into overtime where
Norm Leger scored his third of the
night giving the Lakers the win for
the Lakers.
It was a
penalty filled game with Dresden
taking a total of 46 minutes on 18
infractions and Wallaceburg too 41
minutes on 20 infractions.
Matt
Burglund earned the win making 37
saves, Brent Paxton took the OT loss
with 35 saves.
