April 28th


In the opening night of the S.M.A.A. Midget / Juvenile house league four teams seen action. In game one Tim Hortons held on for an exciting 8-7 victory over the Royal Canadian Legion. Shawn Waldie led Tim Hortons with a hat trick while Joey Burt notched a pair of goals and an assist in his efforts. Picking up singles were Brett Moss, Joel Pilotte and John Tourigny. Helpers went to Andrew Burt with two while Curtis Caudle, Alex Irwin and goaltender Dyllon Metzeler each earned one. William Brandon answered with three goals for the Legion. Jace Galloway notched a pair of goals while Zach Lippiatt added a goal and three helpers. Kyle Buckeridge was the other marksman. Both D’arcy Brown and Trevor Coady supplied one assist in the cause. Goalie Miles Gillings gave a valiant effort in the loss.

In game two LanXess, after a strong second half, came up short in a 9-8 decision to the Optimist Club. Both Travis Harper and John Faulkner lit the lamp three times. Faulkner’s hat trick included a penalty shot. Mike Nimo and Tyler Ryan added a goal and an assist while Tyler Preece rounded out the scoring. Nick Atkinson and Greg Vannieuwehuyze picked up one assist each. Christopher Cheong was the winning goaltender. Jeff Paulley’s offence earned him a hat trick and two assists for LanXess. Steve Farlow notched a pair of goals and two assists. Jason Teschke scored a goal and supplied two assists. Chris Brown had a goal and a helper while Derek Foubister registered the other goal. Darren Foubister picked up an assist in his efforts. Goalie Dyllon Metzler, in his second game of the night, made some key saves in the loss.

April 29th


In the second night of Midget / Juvenile action the Sarnia Police Association topped Mechanical Contractors 12-7. Cody McEachen led the way with three goals and one assist for Sarnia Police. Colin Epps supplied a hat trick while Ray Donkers netted a pair of goals and added three assists in his efforts. Darren Wilson earned a pair of goals and two assists and both Taylor Wilson and Stephen Anderson chipped in with a goal and an assist apiece. Andrew Ferguson earned four helpers. Goalie Miles Gillings provided his services in net for the win. Darcy Paradis answered with two goals and two assists for the Contractors while Matt Pereira supplied a goal and two assists in his efforts. Kevin Acton notched a goal and an assist. Darian Scott, Andrew Labarre and Dillon Glass each score once. Travis Mullen earned a helper. Goalie Brent Maheu faced a lot of shots in this contest.

Jamie Aikin scored four goals including the empty net and set up three others to lead Lamsar to a 14-12 victory over Bean’Stock. Dustin Ireson added two goals and supplied four assists in his effort. Brandon Moore, Eric Hicks and Jon Najim scored twice while Mitch Coultes scored a goal and six assists. Rounding out the scoring was James Keddy with one. Goalie Gary Ryan picked up the win in net for Lamsar. Jordan Pennesi had a solid effort scoring five goals and adding a helper in the loss. Darby MacKinnon scored a hat trick and had a pair of helpers while Nicholas Newman scored twice. Jordan Morrison supplied a goal and three assists and Alex Heinbuch chipped in with a goal and an assist. Helpers went to Christian Gilfoyle, Ryan Jenning, Brent Sauve, Riley Bryce and goalie Dyllon Metzler. Metzler was called upon to provide his services between the pipes for Bean’Stock and had little help from the defence as he too faced a lot of shots.
