Royal
Canadian Legion notches first victory in Inline Hockey.

The
competition was extremely tight between all eight teams in the Sarnia
Minor Athletic Association Midget / Juvenile Inline house in week six.
The Royal Canadian Legion won their first game of the season after
defeating the Sarnia Police Association 8-7. Kevin Hall snapped the tie
on his second goal of the game with only 30 seconds on the clock to give
the Legion the win. Jace Galloway continues to produce as he notched a
hat trick in his efforts. Darby MacKinnon also had a strong effort
scoring a pair of goals and a pair of assists. Caleb Lockhart was the
other sniper for the Legion. Despite only picking up assists William
Brandon, Dave Maczko and Nick Powell were instrumental in helping the
team to victory with their performances. Goalie Miles Gillings preserved
the win in net for the Legion. Collin Epps replied with three goals and
an assist for the Police. Devon Ring notched a pair of goals and Stephen
Anderson supplied a goal and one assist. Taylor Wilson rounded out the
scoring with a single marker. Cody McEachen chipped in with a pair of
assists. Goalie Dyllon Metzler provided his services in net and played a
solid game despite the loss.
Bean’Stock
earned their second win this season as they topped LanXess 10-9.Joel
Workman led Bean’Stock to victory with a four goal performance. The
presence of Alex Heinbuch sparked some offence as he notched a pair of
goals and a pair of assists in his efforts for Bean’Stock. Brent Sauve
also scored a pair of goals while singles went Parker Simpson and
Nicholas Newman. Jordan Pennesi chipped in with four helpers, Kyle
Buckridge earned two and both Riley Bryce and Ryan Jennings each had
one. Goalie Chris Weir, in his first game, played outstanding to get the
win. Answering for LanXess were Derek Nap with two goals and three
assists while Jason Teschke picked up two goals and two assists. Steve
Farlow notched a pair of goals and Jeff Paulley supplied one. Both Chris
Brown and Derek Foubister had one helper each. Goalie Dyllon Metzler, in
his second game of the night, had another solid effort.
June 03
Tim Hortons
suffered their first loss after LamSar battled back in the second half
to clinch a 14-12 victory. Mitch Coultes led LamSar’s attack with six
goals. Dustin Ireson found the back of the net four times and set up two
others and James Keddy supplied a pair of goals and one assist. Both
Jamie Aikin and Brandon Moore scored once and added three assists. Chris
Glover, Eric Helps and Colin Stymest each earned one assist. Ryan Glover
strapped on the goalie pads and picked up the win. Shawn Waldie answered
with four goals and two assists for Tim Hortons. Brandon Biggers scored
twice and added three helpers while both Joey Burt and Joel Pilotte also
scored twice and earned one helper. Additional assists went to Melanie
Irwin with two, Alex Irwin, Brett Moss and John Tourigney all had one.
Goalie Cody Chute, in his first game, made a number of big saves during
the contest.
A strong
second half including a couple of late goals gave the Optimist club a
9-7 victory over the Mechanical Contractors. Tyler Ryan scored a hat
trick from team Optimist while John Faulkner chipped in with a pair of
goals and three assists. Nick Atkinson, Travis Harper and Mike Nimo
scored a single goal and added one assist each. Luke Janson rounded out
the scoring with one. Brett Morreau got on the score sheet with one
assist. Goalie Chris Cheong held on for the win. Matt Pereira scored
twice and added one assist for the Contractors while Darian Scott also
notched a pair of goals. Kevin Acton and Darcy Paradis both supplied a
goal and two assists. Travis Mullen rounded out the scoring with a goal
and an assist. Jon Najim chipped in with one assist. Goalie Brent Maheu
gave a valiant effort.
