Shawn
Waldie has an 11-point outburst in Tim Hortons win.
The Sarnia
Minor Athletic Association Midget / Juvenile Inline house league has
entered week ten of their season. The Optimist club remains on top
despite dropping a 16-5 decision to Tim Hortons. Shawn Waldie was on
fire scoring five goals and adding six assists to give Tim Hortons their
first win in their past four games. Joey Burt also had a solid
performance scoring four goals and adding three assists in his efforts.
Both Brandon Biggers and Andrew Burt scored twice and added one helper
apiece. Joel Pilotte chipped in with a goal and an assist. Goalie Miles
Gillings, with a solid effort, provided his service between the pipes
for Tim Hortons. Mike Nimo replied with a pair of goals for the Optimist
club. Luke Janson supplied a goal and an assist while Tyler Ryan rounded
out the scoring with a single marker. Tyler Preece got on the score
sheet with one assist. Goalie Chris Cheong suffered his first loss this
season.
The Sarnia
Police Association and LamSar battled it out to an eight all tie. This
game had Lamsar leading 6-5 after the first period but it only took a
few minutes into the second for the Sarnia Police to tie the game at
six. LamSar regained a two-goal lead only to see the Sarnia Police
bounce back and tie the game at eight. Both teams were scoreless in the
last ten minutes of the game. Ray Donkers led the offence for the Police
with four goals and two assists. Jordan Franchuk notched a pair of goals
and added one helper while Colin Epps and Taylor Wilson rounded out the
scoring with one goal apiece. Picking up assists were Zach Lippiatt with
three and both Graeme Wattie and William Brandon each had one. Goalie
Cody Chute continues to impress with his efforts between the pipes.
Mitch Coultes had yet another strong effort as he notched a hat trick
for LamSar. Jamie Aikin, Eric Hicks and Colin Stymest all scored a
single marker and had one assist in the cause. The other goal scorers
were Ryan Glover and Brandon Moore both with one. Dustin Ireson earned
three assists while Chris Glover and James Keddy each had one assist.
Goalie Dyllon Metzler provided his services in net for LamSar and had an
outstanding performance.
In yet
another exciting game of the night saw the Mechanical Contractors score
three unanswered goals in the last minute of play to earn a 14-14 draw
and steal the victory away from LanXess. Darcy Paradis scored four goals
and added two assists for the Contractors. Darian Scott also found the
back of the net with four goals of his own. Travis Mullen scored a goal
and added four helpers in his efforts. Matt Pereira notched a goal and
set up three others while Kevin Acton picked up a goal and two assists.
Jon Najim and Cory Olsen both added a goal and an assist and Andrew
Labarre rounded out the scoring with one. Dillon Glass chipped in with
one assist. Both Derek Foubister and Mike Myers answered with a hat
trick and one assist apiece for LanXess. Derek Nap scored twice and set
up four others in his efforts. Jason Teschke supplied two goals and two
assists while Darren Foubister supplied two goals and one assist in the
cause. Cameron Brown was the other marksman picking up a single while
Andreas Lacey got on the score sheet with one assist. Both goaltenders
Brent Maheu (Contractors) and Dyllon Metzler (LanXess) faced a lot of
shots during this contest and gave valiant efforts for their respective
teams. |
