Week 2
Team Optimist Club
player Ben Rutledge scored for the second week in a row with
less than 30 seconds left on the clock to break a deadlock
with Sarnia Police to steal the victory and give his club a
2 and 0 start to the season. The was Ben's 4th of the
game in the 11 to 10 victory! Optimist Club tallies also
included 3 from Spencer Preece who also chipped in with an
assist 2 from Jacob Cunningham. Nick Ashley had a goal and a
helper and Chris Dunn rounded out the scoring with a goal.
Sarnia Police battled hard and gave the Optimist a tough
challenge with points coming from more than half the players
on their bench lead by Nate Broad with 4 goals and 1 assist
Joe Correia with the hat trick Lauren DeSena with 1 and 1
Travis Conrad with a goal Kurt Noszenko with an assist
and Nick Medeiros rounded out the scoring with a beauty!!
Team Micor Sports hands a second loss to the young but
feisty self named LANXESS "LIZARDS". This game went into the
second half tied at 5's and in the second Team Micor out
scored the Lanxess 5 to 3 thanks to the spectacular
goaltending by Kyle Oldale who managed to make an abundance
of difficult first saves while pouncing on his rebounds
thwarting any further attack by the shifty Lizards. Ben
Arthurs lead the Micor attack with 4 goals and 1 assist
while Cole Goossens had 3 Jordy Grondin had 1 with
helpers Jarrett Jackson had 1 and 1 and Nicolas DiRezze
sealed the game with one late in the game. Lanxess had
points coming from Camden Pomerleau with 6 goals Kaleb
Zeytinoglu scored a beauty one timer on a sick assist from
team mate Conner Rapaich with a wrap around pass from behind
the net. Kaleb also impressed his coaches and teammates by
adding 4 unselfish assists to his 5 point night. The Lizards
also saw Kaden Babcock score his first of the year when
he jumped on a rebound after a blistering shot taken by
Andrew Czyczusko squeezed behind Oldale and was bouncing
in the Micor crease when Kaden attacked and shot the
bouncing puck, his stick followed by the rest of his body
into the net for the tally with an assist going to
Czyczusko. |
