I'm having an awesome time here
in Chicago, I have met a bunch of new people and have good
team mates. I have traded all 20 of my Ontario pins with
other kids from different states all over the U.S.
We lost our final round robin game today 6-3 to Illinois. I
scored two goals in our loss. In the afternoon they had an
awards presentation and I made the all star team and will
play tomorrow for team "Pride" in the all star game. They
also had a special presentation for our division where 10
players and 2 goalies would be named to Team North America,
I was one of them and received a special Team North American
jersey which I think is really awesome.
We played our AA Semi-Final game tonight against Michigan
State and won 4-2, I scored 2 goals in the win. We play
against North Carolina for the AA Gold Medal game tomorrow,
so I'm guaranteed to bring home a Gold or Silver Medal which
will be the highest medal won at State Wars for an Ontario
team yet.
GO ONTARIO GO !!!!

Bringing Home The Gold !!!
Here is what they wrote on the State Wars Website Blog
about our Championship Game.......
1997 AA Final
North Carolina vs. Ontario
Up and down...back and forth. It's a close one here at the
Sportsplex. A defensive chess match here as no one wants to
be the one to make a mistake.
The first goal of the game was scored by North Carolina's
Taylor Winfree. The shot was a blast from the point, top
shelf. It was the only goal of the first period.
In the second period Ontario would tie it up on a goal from
Kyle Adams.
The game would go into overtime where Brendan Umscheid (NC)
would find himself in the box for tripping, but about ten
seconds later, so would North Carolina's Chris Connery. We
would play 3 on 3 for a full minute and then the dangerous
Kyle Adams (ON) would come down the left wing, cut to the
middle and snipe one low glove to take the 1997 AA State
Wars Championship back across the border.
All in all, this was a great game to start the string of
Championships in the 1997 birth year.
Final score: Ontario 2 North Carolina 1 OT
SHOTS: Ontario 12 North Carolina

MVP: Kyle Adams (ON)
It was awesome, my team jumped out on the floor chased me
down and piled on top of me!! I didn't score the first goal
like it shows, I assisted on it. For getting the game MVP I
get a new pair of Cobalt inline skates for free!! Everyone
on the team for winning got a hat, championship t-shirt, all
new wheels for our inline skates along with a really big
Gold medal for winning the championship.
The all-star game was a lot of fun also, our Pride team lost
7-4.
I had an awesome time down here and can't wait for tryouts
again so I can come back again next year!! I now have to
stay and watch my brother Kurt's team play, they won both
their games today!!
GO ONTARIO GO!!!!
