In
a spirited and hard-fought game,
the Sarnia In Motion Pacers
dropped their fifth game of the
season before a small but vocal
crowd. In goal for Hamilton was
Dustin Ellis and taking
the loss between the pipes for
the Pacers was Greg Krstic.

1st Period:
Hamilton opened the
scoring with two
goals just 22
seconds apart
beginning with a
marker at 9:53 off
the stick of Kyle
Parsons from
Joey Cupido and
Michael Bottasso.
It was Parsons
who netted his
second at 10:15 with
an assist picked up
by Paul Gardner.
Sarnia got into the
game on a David
Hornblower goal
at 16:02 with
assists to John
Pilkey and
Greg Krstic.
With one minute
remaining in the
period, David
Hornblower
struck again with
his second of the
period and notched
the game at two
each. Picking up
assists were
Riley Thompson
and Jahn
Budziewicz.
Shots on goal:
Hamilton - 19
Sarnia - 16. Sarnia
had the only power
play of the period
and they were unable
to capitalize on it.

2nd Period:
Sarnia took the lead
at the 4:40 mark on
a Jimmy Purves
goal and 78 seconds
later, he scored
another to give the
Pacers a two goal
lead. Assisting on
both goals were
Mike Butler and
Lance Ross
each time. Sarnia's
Lance Ross picked up
a double minor for
checking from behind
at 7:39, was joined
by a player from
each team at 8:08
leading to a 4 on 3
power play goal by
the Bengals.
Scoring it at 9:22
was Aaron Buswell
from Joey Cupido
and Kyle Aquin.
With 18 seconds
remaining in the
period, a second
squirmish took place
in which Dylan Lee
of Hamilton took a
high sticking major
to go along with his
five minute fighting
major for tussling
with Sarnia's Jahn
Budziewicz. It
would lead to the
Pacers enjoying
three minutes of
power play advantage
in the third
period. Shots on
goal: Hamilton -
21/40 Sarnia -
14/30. The Bengals
were the only ones
with the man
advantage and they
went 1 for 2 this
period.

3rd Period:
The Pacers were
unable to capitalize
once they went on
the power play early
this period and
instead found
themselves in
penalty trouble. It
began with an
interference call at
6:30 that put John
Pilkey in the sin
bin. He was joined
18 seconds later
when team mate Mike
Butler laid a hard
checking from behind
on a Bengal player
and received a
double minor for
checking from behind
giving Hamilton a
two man advantage
for over a minute.
However, it only
took them 13 seconds
to tie up the game
at four each on a
Kyle Aquin
goal. Assisting on
the goal were
Joey Cupido and
Ryan Dilks.
At this point,
Pilkey was released
from the penalty box
and the Pacers
played just a single
man short with 3:47
remaining in the the
Butler penalties. A
short-handed marker
at 8:31 by David
Hornblower gave
the Pacers the lead
again and picking up
assists on the goal
were T. J. Mara
and Jimmy Purves. |
Hamilton
responded with their second
power play goal at 9:26 off the
stick of Jesse Staats
from Ryan Dilks and
Joey Cupido and the game was
tied at five. The teams
continued to trade goals with a
Bengals goal at 11:05 by
Jesse Staats from Aaron
Buswell followed by a Pacers
marker at 22 seconds later.
Bulging the twine was Jahn
Budziewicz with an assist to
Jesse Thompson. Sarnia
took the lead at 13:13 on a
Riley Thompson goal with an
assist to Josh Bujaki.
Hamilton came back just FIVE
seconds later and the game was
tied at seven each. Scoring the
goal was Joey Cupido from
Ryan Dilks. Both teams
had some good chances but the
goalies came up with some big
saves. Then with 42 seconds
remaining Mike Mazurek
notched the winning goal for the
Bengals with assists to Joey
Cupido and Ryan Dilks.
With 6 seconds remaining in the
period and ball possession by
Sarnia, the Pacers called a time
out, pulled their goalie for an
extra runner, but to no avail.

was 2 for 3 with the man
advantage this period and were 3
for 5 in the game. Sarnia was 0
for 2 on the power play this
period and were 0 for 3 in the
game.

The In Motion Pacers
return to the floor for a home
game on Friday May 16th when the
London Blue Devils visit the
Clearwater Arena. Game time is
an 8:00 start. On Sunday the
18th they travel to St.
Catherines for a 2:00 game.
