Sarnia
Pacers
vs
Six
Nations

When
a
team
loses
by
seven
goals
like
the Sarnia
Pacers
did
on
Friday
night,
one
might
think
the
head
coach
might
be a
little
upset
with
the
performance
of
his
team.
But
that
wasn't
the
case
for
Pacers
head
coach
John
Dark
after
watching
his
team
drop
a
8-1
decision
to
the
talented
Six
Nations
Rebels
before
296
faithful
fans
at
the
Clearwater
Arena.
"We
played
a
very
good
team
tonight,"
said
Dark.
"They
don't
have
a
bad
stick
on
the
floor.
Our
boys
never
quit.
They
came
out
hard
and
finished
hard.
Tonight
it
was
simply
a
case
of
talent
beat
us."
The
win
for
Six
Nations
was
their
12th
of
the
year
in
13
games.
They
are
atop
the
Southwest
Division,
but
overall
have
the
best
record
in
the
Western
Conference
of
the
Ontario
Lacrosse
Association
Junior
B
League.
The
loss
dropped
Sarnia's
record
to
2-9-1
as
they
remain
in
last
place
in
the
Far
West
Division.
Things
actually
started
off
well
for
the
Pacers
as
T.J..
Mara
scored
his
sixth
goal
of
the
season
just
21
seconds
into
the
game.
It
marked
the
first
time
all
season Sarnia
had
scored
on
their
first
shift.
But
the
Rebels
remained
calm.
They
tied
the
game
two
minutes
later
and
by
the
end
of
the
opening
period
held
a
5-1
lead.
They
increased
their
lead
to
8-1
after
40
minutes.
Both
teams
failed
to
score
in
the
third
period.
"Our
biggest
problem
tonight
was
the
one
we've
had
all
season
in
that
we
couldn't
score,"
Dark
said.
"The
sad
part
was
Six
Nations
was
chasing
us
around
at
times,
but
we
didn't
take
advantage
and
go
hard
down
the
middle
to
the
net.
When
Six
Nationals
was
on
offence,
they
drove
the
net
with
a
full
head
of
steam.
If
they
didn't
score,
they
either
looked
for
rebounds
or
pressed
us
hard
when
we
got
the
ball."
Sarnia
is
averaging
a
dismal
5.5
goals
per
game
this
season.
Defensively
they
are
giving
up
9.6
goals
a
game.
Six
Nations
averages
10
goals
a
game
on
offence
while
giving
up
five
a
game.
Vaughn
Harris
led
the
Rebels
with
two
goals
while
Jeremy
Johns,
Clark
Robinson,
Kyle
Isaacs,
I.
Quinn
Powlesss,
Randy
Martins
and
Marty
Hill
added
singles.
For
Hill
it
was
his
team-high
18th
goal
of
the
year.
Warren
Hill
posted
the
win
in
goal
for
the
Rebels.
He
did
not
face
a
ton
shots,
but
made
the
saves
when
needed.
Justin
Matthews
played
the
first
and
second
periods
in
goal
for
the
Pacers
before
giving
way
to
newcomer
Bob
Smith
in
the
third
period.
Smith
was
recently
picked
up
from
Wallace.
He
is a
last
year
player
with
was
not
seeing
any
action
in
Wallace.
Dark
believes
Six
Nationals
and
Windsor,
the
top
two
clubs
in
the
Western
Conference,
would
have
an
intense
match.
The
two
have
yet
to
meet
this
season.
"Windsor
doesn't
have
the
sticks
these
guys
have,
but
it
would
be a
quick,
up
and
down
game,
but
also
would
be
very
physical."
Six
Nationals
scored
just
one
power
play
goal
and
one
while
shorthanded.
There
were
only
a
handful
of
penalties
and
despite
two
fights,
the
game
took
just
one
hour
and
45
minutes.
The
Pacers
are
back
in
action
Sunday
afternoon
when
they
host
Elora
beginning
at 3
pm
at
the
Clearwater
Arena.
Elora
sports
a
5-3-2
record
so
far
this
season.
