The PeeWee Pacers traveled to Guelph and were rewarded with championship trophies for their hard work over the weekend.

In their first game on Friday night Sarnia would face a squad from Mississauga and despite some penalty problems would come away with a well deserved 7-4 victory. Brayden Bell was solid in the net picking up the victory and scoring for the Pacers was provided by Jacob Caughlin and Jack Dunn with 2 apiece and singles to Brett Barnes, Kyle Vince and Bert Thorpe. Barnes also had 2 assists in the winning cause.

Game two Saturday morning would see the squad battle uncooperative lacrosse sticks as chance after chance was missed against the hometown Guelph squad. Barnes would score with under two minutes to play to seal a 4-3 victory for Sarnia. Other goal scorers were Brennan McKegan, Logan Scott and Dunn with singles. Cody Haas played a strong game in net.

Later on a rainy Saturday the Pacers would complete their round-robin play with a chippy affair against the Sudbury Rockhounds. Scoring was limited to 3 goals per team in this tie match but the scorekeeper was kept busy keeping track of the 52 minutes in penalties amassed by the teams. Goaltending duties were split between Haas and Bell and both played well to keep things tight. Goals were provided by Ethan Dupont, Barnes and Dunn with Patrick Wright chipping in with 2 assists. With a record of 2 wins and 1 tie the Pacers would finish first in their pool and advance to the finals against their newfound friends from Northern Ontario.

In the championship game the Pacers would fall behind on the first shift of the game but that wake up call was just what they needed as they would control the rest of the game, hold the Rockhounds off the scoresheet and come away with a 6-1 victory. Bell and Haas were once again very solid when needed to backstop the team to the win. Scoring was once again spread out with Barnes burying 2 and singles to Thorpe, Dunn, Scott and Vince. Dunn also added two assists and goalie Brayden Bell picked up his third of the tournament as well.
