Sarnia Tyke Pacers
2010
May 15, 2010
The
season opened with back to back battles for the Tyke
Pacers at Clearwater Arena this Saturday.
The
team is lead by Captain Simon Doan, Assistant Carter
Barron and Assistant Kyle Haas – all returning
players from last years’ Tyke team. The Tykes
met with quite a challenge from the Sun County
Crows. Sean Foster is the net minder for Sarnia and
gave an outstanding effort on his debut game.
The first period had Sun County finding the back of
the net on 3 occasions, followed by the second
period with 2 more. Sarnia was able to assert their
place on the pad in the third period with a goal
being scored by Carter Barron – unassisted. Sun
County finished the game with a 9-1 win.

GAME
The
2nd game was a more comparable match
between the teams. The first period saw Sarnia
answering Sun County’s first 2 goals with 2 goals of
their own. Krisitan Spitzig was unassisted with
scoring as was AP player Tyler Caron. Spitzig
returned for more in the second period with a repeat
of the first. Third period saw solid passing with
the results being the fourth goal of the game from
Tyler Caron, assisted by Krisitan Spitzig.
Sun
County Crows left town with the 2nd game
in the win column, showing a 7-4 result.
A Bumpy Ride in London
May 18, 2010
This
evening, Head Coach Karmen Adams, with Assistants
Ken Doan and Mark Haas, as well as Trainer Mike
Barron headed down the highway, for the first time
this season with the Tyke Team.
It
started on an unexpected note with Assistant Captain
Carter Barron being absent due to injury. Kristian
Spitzig stepped up to the plate to wear the A
tonight.
London was fast and furious and a serious challenge
to the Sarnia Pacers in this competition. Sarnia’s
effort was
an assertive one with lots of activity in the
penalty box. The first period saw Spitzig sitting
for a tripping and a high stick call. The second
period had Trenton Tomlinson in the box for a high
stick call. The third period had Kyle Fraser on the
score sheet with 2 checking from behind minors.
Unfortunately, London spent most of the game on the
floor and not in the penalty box, which resulted in
a 14 – 0 victory. Kudos to Sarnia goalie Sean Foster
for standing tall through it all.
The
boys are back on the road this Thursday to meet with
Wallaceburg for the first time this season.
