Heading into the Gold medal game both teams were tied in the standings race with 14 points apiece with a total of 7 wins and 1 loss. British Columbia lost to Manitoba (15 - 13) earlier in the week and Manitoba suffer their lone loss to Ontario B (16 -13). For the Gold Medal it was a close match but British Columbia pulled ahead to take the win with a final score of 17 - 13. After the game Skip Linda Cowie said "This is such a wonderful feeling, the Manitoba team was a tough team to beat. Our team played great all week especially in the final." What made the win extra special for Linda was that her son and his family were on the sidelines to watch. They drove all the way from Ottawa to watch Mom in the Gold Medal Match!
