Sarnia Ladies Win Silver!

In a major upset, Sue Roth (centre) led her untested team of second year bowler Betty Baldwin (left) and first year bowler Monique Buckley to a Silver Medal in  the
Ontario Novice Championships held at the Sarnia Lawn Bowling Club in Germain Park.

A novice may have up to 5 years experience. A Sunday afternoon win over a previously undefeated veteran
Burlington team was the key to capturing the Silver. Final results gave the Gold Medal to New Market,  with Burlington taking Bronze in the Ladies Division. Men’s Gold went to Ridgetown, Silver to Cosburn Park (Toronto) and Bronze to Burlington.

Sarnia Scores 9-Ender at Lawn Bowling Championships!

During play at the Ontario Novice Championships the Sarnia Ladies team scored a rare Nine Ender. All of their bowls counted, producing a score of nine for the end played.  Seldom accomplished, it is that much more impressive having occurred in Provincial competition.
