Your skates come from the
manufacturer with a 9ft radius, approximately 1 1/2 to 2 1/2
inches of work radius in contact with the ice surface. When you
measure the blade,
the majority of the time there is more material on the toe area of the
skate than the heel area
which places the skater on the heels of his feet. When the skate
is set up in this manner,
it is nearly impossible to obtain a full leg extension and toe extension
without experiencing
muscle fatigue and pain.
When the skates are balanced, the technician can apply up to a 1 1/2 ft.
radius to the skate depending on the skater's application. The
technician will place the rear of the work radius immediately behind the
balance point of the body that runs through the Talus bone of the heel.
The front of the work radius is placed in front of the Metatarsus ball
of the foot or the "V" in your two big toes. This results in 60%
more blade on the ice for stability and control.
The technician will then ascertain how much of a pitch to place on the
skate. A 1mm pitch from toe radius to heel radius will result in the
skater bending his knees 3 inches. The more bend in the knees the
more positive pressure that is applied to Achilles tendon which controls
all the power at your leg for a complete leg extension and toe extension
everytime you take a stride in your skate.
The Technician will be able to control
the bend in your knee and your leg extension by shaping the blade of
the skate properly.
Getting your skates "Body Balance Contoured" will result in
immediate increase in performance in every aspect of your skating:
Increased Balance
Increased Agility
Increased Lateral Movement
Increased Speed
Improve Stick Handling
Increased Stability
Controlled Leg Extension
Reduced Fatigue
You won't believe the improvement in your performance until you try
Body Balance Contouring.
