Mooretown Flags vs Alvinston Flyers
 

Hockey season began in Mooretown last night with the first exhibition game against the Alvinston Flyers.  After the first period of play both sides were even 1 - 1 with the Flyers scoring first on a power play goal scored by Paul Johnson.  Mooretown struggling with penalties late in the period
fought back and scored with a man short 1:07 later.  Donny Bowling scored the short handed goal for the Flags assisted by Taylor Andali and Mitch Dobroski.

In the second period the Flags went on to add a pair with goals scored by Wes McLeod and Travis Plast.  Third period penalties resulted in another pair by Alvinston to take the game with a final score of 5 - 1.  Powerplay goals were scored by Richard Taylor and Wes McLeod.

Alvinston went 3 for 10 in powerplay opportunities with Mooretown going 0 for 4.
