Mooretown Flags vs Alvinston Flyers

Game 1

The Alvinston Flyers took the first game in the playoffs series with a final score of 7 - 4 on their home ice.
The Flags were leading after the first period with a score of  2 - 0.  Both goals were scored on the
powerplay with Mike Burns scoring the first assisted by Elliot Lewis and Raymond Martin.
The second powerplay goal was scored by Mike Berry from Matt Beer.

In the second period the Flags scored a single to go up by 3 but the Flyers fought back and narrowed
 the Flags lead to 1 after scoring 2 goals (the second on a powerplay) to end the period with the Flags
leading with a score of 3 - 2.

In the third the Alvinston tied things up but the Flags answered back a minute later with another powerplay goal scored by Joe Guenther assisted by Mike Burns. From this point on the Flags broke down as
the Flyers went on and tied things up then went on to score 3 more goals the final short handed
to take the win with a final score of 7 - 4.

The two teams are back in action tonight (Feb 16) for game 2 in Mooretown.  Puck drop is at 7:30 pm.
