Mooretown Flags vs Wallaceburg

Game 2
Mooretown 5 - Wallaceburg 6 OT
After taking a 10 - 1 thumping in game 1 the Flags rallied back in
game 2. At
home against the Lakers on Saturday Wallaceburg took the lead at
9:39
in the first period. Mooretown answered back at 11:15 when Josh
Teschke scored assisted by
APM player Aaron Boueman. With both sides even heading into
the second it took 1:14 for
Mooretown to take the lead. Mike Burns scored for the Flags
assisted by Matt Beer
and Kyle Truan-Olsen. At 7:03 the Flags widened their lead by 2
goals when John Dunn scored
from Cody Chute and Truan-Olsen. Before the period was
complete the Lakers narrowed
the Flags lead at 16:10 and the period ended with the Flags leading
3 - 2.
Action continued in the third period and at 6:12 Matt Beer regained
the 2 point lead.
Assisting on the Beer goal was Tyler Fraser. Things got sloppy
for the Flags when
Wallaceburg scored shorthanded to narrow the lead once again by 1.
Mooretown was
back on the powerplay and capitalized at 9:41 with Joe Guenther
scoring assisted by
Elliott Lewis and Jordan Pennesi. Wallaceburg also capitalized
on a powerplay late
in the period at 17:40 then answered back with a tying goal at 18:31
sending the game into
overtime. It took 1:39 off the clock for Wallaceburg to score
to take the 6 - 5 win in Overtime.
Game 3
Mooretown 0 - Walaceburg 3
The Flags traveled to Wallaceburg on Sunday and took a 3 - 0 loss.
Both sides were even
heading into the 3rd period. In the thrid the Flags ran into
penalty troubles and the Lakers
capitalized and scored all 3 goals on the powerplays.
The Flags are now down 3 games and need a win at home on Tuesday to
stay alive.
Game time for game 4 is at 7:30 pm at the Moore Recreation Center.
