Mooretown 5 OT vs Wallaceburg 4

Mooretown takes
a three to two game lead in the best of
seven playoff series after their 5 - 4 win
in overtime against Wallaceburg last night
on home ice.
In the first
period both sides shared powerplay goals
with Adam Teschke scoring first for
the Flags from Tyler Fraser and Cody Chute
assisting. Shawn Lubbers would later
score for the Lakers from Brad Hurlock and
Joe Jacobs.
Second period action saw Mooretown regain
the lead after Tyler Fraser scored a second
powerplay goal assisted by Chute and Travis
Mullen. Chris Lalonde answered back
four minutes later with Nash Lozon and Derek
Nap assisting. Wallaceburg would take
the lead for the first time after scoring a
powerplay goal by Rob Pollock from Kevin
Shorts and Blain Hopkins. With just
:03 seconds left on the clock Adam Little
from Mike Burns scored for the Flags ending
the period with both sides even at 3 - 3.
Late in the
third Wallaceburg took the lead scoring a
powerplay goal with Nash Lozon from Chris
Lalonde scoring. Just over three
minutes later at 18:38 Tyler Fraser scored
to even the game. Adam Teschke and
Chris Cloutier assisted on the tying goal.
Regulation time ran out with each side even
at 4 - 4 sending the game into overtime.
In overtime at
17:45 Adam Little scored his second goal of
the game giving him his second game winner
in the series. Alex Dawson assisted on the
game winner.
Like the weather it was a blustery affair
with Wallaceburg taking 50 penalty minutes
on 16 infractions and Mooretown taking 79
minutes on 23 infractions. Wallaceburg
scored three goals on 17 powerplay
opportunities where Mooretown scored 2 on
five chances.
The series could
end tonight with a Mooretown win as they
travel to Wallaceburg for game six.
