Mooretown
Flags vs Kingsville Comets
The Flags were
in Kingsville Wednesday night and came home
winner after taking the win with a final
score of 6 - 3
Mooretown took
the lead by 2 in the first period by scoring
2 unanswered goals the first by Mike Burns
unassisted and the second on a powerplay by
Adam Little from Alex Dawson.
In the second
the Flags took a commanding lead scoring 3
goals before the Comets answered with a
single.
Scoring the
first goal in the second was Steve Mercier
from Josh Teschke and Alex Dawson.
Tyler Fraser scored next assisted by Cody
Chute and Alex Dawson with his 3rd assist.
Adam Teschke scored the third goal from Mike
Burns and Jordan Pennesi. Kingsville
lone goal in the second was scored by Alan
Beausoliel. The Flags were leading 5 -
1 heading into the third.
Third period saw
Chris Bondy score an unassisted goal to give
the Comets 2. To finish the game both
sides gave up powerplay goals with Mooretown
scoring first by Alex Dawson from Steve
Mercier and Jeff Paulley. Adam Hughes
scored for Kingsville with just 3 seconds
left on the clock but it wasn't enough as
Mooretown went home with the 6 - 3 win.
Despite the loss
for Kingsville they outshot the Flags 50 -
35
Kyle Washer was
outstanding in net for the Flags making a
total of 47 saves in the win. Jordan
Shallow made 14 saves and allowed 5 goales
before being replaced by Mike Touma who made
15 saves.
Mooretown went 2
for 7 in the powerplay - Kingsville went 1
for 7.
The Flags are
back at home on Saturday February 7 when
they take on Belle River for a 7:30 game
start.
