In exciting
action over the weekend the Flags went 1 and
1 with both games being decided in Shoot
Outs!
In the first
game at home the Flags hosted Belle River.
Belle River scored first on an unassisted
goal by Shane Noel that took the Flags by
surprise at 1:12 into the game.
Mooretown answered back at 6:06 when Adam
Little scored assisted by Jordan Pennesi and
Darby McKinnon. Mike Burns gave the
Flags the lead just over a minute later with
Donny Bowling and Josh Teschke assisted.
In the second period Shane Noel scored his
second goal on a powerplay to even the
score. Both sides would end up even
with 2 each heading into the third period.
Adam Little
struck just :41 seconds into the third with
his second goal of the night assisted by
Spencer Lightfoot and
Chris Cloutier. Belle River answered
back at 5:09 with Evan Carrick scoring to
even the score. Time ran out
in regulation sending the game into overtime
where no winner was decided setting it up to
be decided in shoot out
where the Flags one 2 - 1 in the shootout.
Scoring for the Flags were Josh Teschke and
Jordan Pennesi.

Mooretown at
Blenheim
February 8, 2009
In the second
game in two nights the Flags were on the
road to Blenheim. Mooretown took the
early lead at 1:45 on a powerplay.
Adam Teschke scored assisted by Tyler
Fraser. Blenheim tied things up with a
goal at 5:16 with Zack Miletic scoring.
Ten minutes later Brady Campbell put
Blenheim in the lead only to have Mike Burns
of the Flags tie the score just under the 2
minute mark. Assisting on the Burns
goal were Donny Bowling and Josh Teschke.
Darby McKinnon
from Adam Little regained the lead for the
Flags at the 9:46 mark in the second period
however later in the
period Thomas Innes scored a shorthanded
goal for Blenheim for the tie. Period
ended with both sides even 3 - 3.
Third period saw
no results to send the game into overtime
and again no result and for the second night
in a row
it took a shoot out to decide the winner.
In the shoot out the Flags came up empty and
Blenheim scored a single
to give them the win.

This past
weekend finished the regular league season
and the Flags now go on to Playoffs on
Wednesday
when they go up
against Wallaceburg.
