On Saturday the Flags put up a good battle taking on the league leading Essex 73's. 

Essex is leading both the North and South Division with an amazing record of 34 wins and 1 overtime loss for a total of 69 points.  Mooretown is sitting in 3rd spot in the North Division with 15 wins 16 losses and 1 overtime loss for a total of 31 points.

In Saturday's game at the Moore Sports Complex both sides were even after 2 periods of play.  In the third Essex scored 2 goals by Mike Roach and Nick Nicodemo.  Total shots on goal after 3 periods of play:  Mooretown 28 - Essex 43.

The star in this match up was Flags netminder Kyle Washer making a total of 41 saves in the loss.  Essex netminder Brandon Robitaile made 28 saves in total. 

The Flags went 0 for 3 in powerplay opportunities and Essex went 0 for 5.

Next up the Flags have a midweek game when they host Wheatley on Wednesday Jan21 for an 8:00 pm game start.  On Friday they travel to Belle River then on Saturday they are back at home again when they faceoff against Blenhein for a 7:30 pm game start.
