Mooretown at Alvinston

The Mooretown Flags were in Alvinston on Friday and came home with a 8 - 3 win. After 2 periods of play both sides were even with 3 apiece.   Mooretown opened the scoring with Aaron Schieman scoring with Spencer Lightfoot and Mike Berry assisting.  Alvinston would
go on and take the next two with goals by Travis Plant and Jake Unsworth taking the lead. Spencer Lightfoot would even things up assisted by Donny Bowling and AP player Greg Babcock assisting.

In the second Spencer Lightfoot would score his second of the night on a shorthanded goal to take the lead for the first time, however with :05 seconds remaining Adam Steadman would score for Alvinston to end the period with each side even 3 - 3.

In the third period the Flags exploded and scored 5 unanswered goals.  Mike Burns scored what would turn out to be the winning goal at :14 seconds into the period.  His goal was unassisted.  Cody Chute from Alex Dawson scored next with Raymond Martin from Tyler Fraser, Donny Bowling (unassisted) and Tyler Fraser netting the last goal of the night at 19:22 assisted by Spencer Lightfoot.

Justin Belanger was in net for the win with Brodij Gerryts and Derek McCullough sharing in the loss. Both sides were even with with a total of 42 shots on net.  Mooretown went 0 for 6 on powerplays Alvinston went 0 for 3.

The Flags are back in action on Saturday night for their second road game of the weekend as they travel to Kingsville for a 7:30 game start.
