Mooretown at Dresden
The Mooretown Flags
were on the road on Friday and took a 4 - 3 loss
ending their five game winning streak. Despite
the loss they remain on top in the standings race
tied in points with Dresden.
Travis Mullen opened
the scoring for Mooretown in the last minute of play
on a powerplay. Jordan Pennesi and Donny
Bowling assisted on the goal. With just one
second remaining on the clock Dresden came back and
scored to tie things up.
In the second period
Mooretown scored their second goal again on the
powerplay to take the lead. Adam Teschke
scored assisted by Cody Chute and Tyler Fraser.
Jordan Pennesi stepped up and gave the Flags a 3 - 1
lead with Donny Bowling and Steve Mercier assisting
on the goal. Before the period was through,
Dresden came back and added two goals to even the
score and the period ended with both sides tied at 3
- 3.
Action continued in
the third and at 18:26 Dresden scored to take the
lead the first time in the game which they held on
to take the win.
The Flags are back in
action on Saturday night at home when they host
Belle River at 7:30 pm at the Mooretown Sports
Recreation Centre.
