Mooretown at  Wheatley

Mooretown were on the road Monday night to go up against the Wheatley Sharks and came home with their third loss in 4 days.  Despite the loss Mike Burns drove 4 of the 5 goals into the net for the Flags in the 7 - 5 loss. 

Wheatley went up 2 goals before the Flags hit the mark midway into the first period. Spencer Lightfoot scored assisted by Steve Mercier.  Period ended with the Sharks leading 2 - 1.

In the second period it was a back and forth affair with Wheatley scoring first on a shorthanded goal at :51 seconds into the period. Mike Burns scored his first goal at the 7:24 mark to narrow the Wheatley lead to 1 at this point. Adam Little and Travis Mullen assisted on the goal.  Back to back powerplay goals increase the numbers on the scoreboard first by Wheatley then Mooretown with Mike scoring his second goal assisted by Josh Teschke and Adam Little.  Wheatley would add another pair of goals late in the period to go up 6 - 3 at the end of two periods.

Third period action continue with Wheatley scoring their 7th goal at :26 seconds into the period.  Burns continued his scoring with Aaron Schieman assisting at 2:47.  The final goal of the game was scored midway into the period with Mike Burns netting his 4th goal of the game on a shorthanded goal assisted by Jordan Pennesi.  Wheatley held on to take the win with a final score of 7 - 5.
