| After the exciting
win the previous night the Flags went on the road to
Blenheim for a Sunday evening tilt against the
Blades. In the
first period both sides went scoreless with some
outstanding goaltending by Justin Belanger as the
Blades outshot the Flags 15 - 6.
In the second both sides
were even and they exchanged powerplay goals with
Mooretown's Josh Teschke netting the first goal with
Raymond Martin and Adam Little assisting at 3:12.
Blenheim answered back at 6:14 with their powerplay
goal and took the lead at 12:46. Two late
period goals put the Flags on top to end the 2nd
period with Jordan Pennesi scoring a powerplay goal
from Rory Keane and Raymond Martin at 18:36 and at
19:00 Darby MacKinnon sniped a shot to put the Flags
up by 1. Steve Mercier and Spencer Lightfoot
assisted on the final 2nd period goal. Shots on goal
in the period Mooretown - 14, Blenheim - 15.
Third period action saw Blenheim come back and tie
things up at 3:45. Mooretown dug in and came
up with the lead at 10:39 with Cody Chute scoring
what turned out to be the winning goal with Adam
Teschke and Rory Keane assisting. In the final
minute of the game Blenheim was short and Adam
Teschke scored to secure the win. Tyler Fraser
and Travis Mullin assisted on the final goal of the
game at 19:02.
The Flags are currently in 2nd place in the North
Division race with 2 games back from the leader.
The team travels to Essex on Tuesday October 21
where they will go up against the Essex 73's who are
undefeated so far this year. The Flags are back at
home on Sat Oct 25 when they host Dresden for a 7:30
game start.
