The Mooretown Flags are gearing up for their new
season with 3 exhibition wins under their belt.
In their first exhibition game they were at home
against Wallaceburg and took the win with a score of
7 - 2. The Flags were leading 4 - 0 after the first
period of play. Wallaceburg score 2 in the
second with the Flags adding 1 to make it 5 - 2
after 2 and then the Flags added 2 more to round out
the scoring giving them 7 - 2 win.
The next day the team
traveled to Alvinston where they took the early lead
in the first with 2 goals and added 2 more in the
second. Alvinston scored their lone goal in
the second and in the third neither side lit up the
board to end the game with the Flags winning with a
final score of 4 - 1.
On the weekend Alvinston
came to Mooretown for the second half of the
home/home series and again were stymied by the
Flags. Both sides went scoreless in the first
period and the Flags took the lead in the second
with 2 unanswered goals then added 3 more in the
third. Alvinston only goals were scored in the
third period and the game ended with a final score
of 5 - 2. The
Flags are back in exhibition action Wednesday
September 10 when they visit the Wallaceburg Lakers
in their final exhibition game series. Their
season begins at home on September 20 at the
Mooretown Sports Complex against Dresden. Game
begins at 7:30 pm. |
