The Flags traveled to Wallaceburg on Wednesday for
this first away game of the season and came home on
top with a final score of 7 - 3.
After a slow start in
the first period the Flags found themselves trailing
3 - 1 at the end period. Scoring the lone goal
for the Flags in the first period was Cody Chute
assisted by Adam Teschke and Raymond Martin.
In the second period the Lakers ran into penalty
troubles that allowed the Flags to score 3 goals on
powerplay. Adding another single in the period
gave the Flags a score of 5 - 3 at the end of 2
periods. Adam Little scored a pair of powerplay
goals in the second period with Mike Burns and
Jordan Pennesi assisting on the first and Cody Chute
and Mike Burns assisting on the second. Adam
Teschke and Jordan Pennesi each scored singles to
round out the second period scoring with Travis Mull
and Cody Chute assisting on Teschke's goal and
Teschke and Raymond Martin assisting on Pennesi
goal.
Third period saw 2
more unanswered goals being scored with Adam Little
scoring his third goal of the night for the hat
trick with Steve Mercier and Travis Mullin
assisting. Josh Teschke scored the final goal
of the night assisted by Darby MacKinnon and Alex
Dawson.
The Flags are back at
home on Saturday for the second game of the
home/home series against the Lakers. Game time
is 7:30 at the Mooretown Sports Complex. |
