Mooretown hosted Wallaceburg in the second half of
the home/home series. Earlier in the week
the Flags downed the Lakers with a final score of 7
- 3.

On
Saturday's game the Flags took a 3 - 0
lead in the first period with Donny
Bowling scoring all three goals at 5:01,
7:01 & 8:59 to give him the hat trick.
Cody Chute and Darby MacKinnon assisted
on the first goal, MacKinnon and Spencer
Lightfood assisted on the second goal
and Chute assisted on the third goal.
Before the period was over Wallaceburg's
Derek Nap answered back with a pair to
end the first with the Flags leading 3 -

In the second Jordan
Dolce of Wallaceburg scored the lone goal in the
period to tie things up heading into the third
period. In the third both sides skated to a
scoreless period to send the game into overtime
where the Flags gave up a powerplay opportunity as
Wallaceburg scored a shorthanded goal to end the
game and leave town with the win. Winning goal
for Wallaceburg was scored by Jordan Franchuck.
In net for the Flags
was Justin Belanger facing a total of 32 saves.
In net for the overtime win was Steve Noyle with a
total of 40 saves.
The Flags are back in
action on Monday when they travel to Wheatley. On
Friday Oct 3 they are in Dresden and back at home on
Saturday Oct 4 against Blenheim. |
