Mooretown Flags
at Alvinston Flyers

Friday night
the Flags were on the road to Alvinston and came home
with a 4 - 3 loss. After a scoreless first
period Mooretown's Spencer Lightfoot scored the first
goal of the night on a powerplay at 1:44 into the
second. Raymond Martin and Alex Dawson assisted on
the goal. At 4:44 Alex Dawson scored the
second goal to give the Flags a 2 - 0 lead.
Assisting on Dawson goal were Jordan Pennesi and Spencer
Lightfoot. Alvinston answered back by scoring back
to back goals to end the second with both sides even
with 2 apiece. Dylan Lightfoot and Greg Milner
scored for the Flyers.
Early in the third period Alvinston took the lead for
the first time at 2:34 with Nick Newman scoring.
Midway into the period the Flyers widened the gap with
Casey Vanderheide scoring. Mooretown clawed their
way back and at 18:30 Darby McKinnon assisted by Donny
Bowling put the Flags within reach, but time ran out and
the Flags took the loss.
Shots on net
was close with Mooretown's total 36 - Alvinston's total
34. Mooretown went 1 for 4 on the powerplay and
Alvinston went 0 for 2. Mooretown took just 4
minutes on 2 infractions in the game, Alvinston took 10
minutes on 5 infractions.

Gerryts took the win for the Flyers with 33 saves.
Seth Anderson took the loss with 30 saves.
Tonight the
Flags play their 3rd game of the week as they host the
Wallaceburg Lakers. Game time 7:30 pm.
