Mooretown Flags
vs Kingsville

It was a
scoring frenzy Wednesday night in Mooretown but it was
the Mooretown Flags that led the way taking a 10 - 6 win
over the Kingsville Comets.
Mooretown took the 2 - 1 lead after the first period and
added seven more in the 2nd while Kingsville added 4 of
their own to end the second 9 - 5. Third period
saw each side give up just one goal to round out the
scoring.
Kingsville took the lead twice in the game in the second
period with back to back goals :41 seconds apart in the
opening minutes of the period. Mooretown came back
to tie but the Comets regained the lead, however that
was the last time as Mooretown fired in 5 back to back
goals. Before the period ended Kingsville added
another single and in the last minute of play Mooretown
added one more. Mooretown scored a total of 7
goals in the second period, Kingsville scored 4.
Jordan Pennesi scored 3 goals for the hat trick and
assisted on 4 to give him 7 points for the night. Adam
Little scored a pair and assisted on 2, Mike
Burns, Spencer Lightfoot (1 assist), Zach
Anderson, Brett Thompson (4 assists) and Travis
Mullen (1 assist) each scored singles. Jason
Teschke earned 4 assists and Cody Stout assisted on 2.
Adam
Minovski led the Comets with 2 goals, Paul Bonday,
Chris Bondy, Eric Vandal and Ryan Rodger scored singles.
Mooretown outshot the Comets 55 - 30. Jordan Gladwish
earned the win with a total of 24 saves. Matt
Bassingthwaighte took the loss with 45 saves.
Mooretown
went 3 for 5 on the powerplay, Kinsville went 1 for 3.
This a busy week for the Flags as they travel to
Alvinston tonight at 8:00 pm then back at home Saturday
where they meet up with league rivals the Wallaceburg
Lakers. Game time 7:30
