Mooretown vs
Essex

Essex was in Mooretown
last night and went away with a 5 - 3 win over the
hometown Flags.
Play was tight as
Mooretown opened the scoring in the last minute of play
in the first on a powerplay. Greg Babcock socred
assisted by Alex Dawson and Travis Harper.
Essex scored the second
goal in the second period also on a powerplay to tie
things up. Nick Nicodemo scored for the 73's at
3:41. Jason Teshke regained the lead for the Flags
just under two minutes later assisted by Adam Little and
Jordan Pennesi. Essex came back to tie in the last
period of play to head into the 3rd period with both
sides even at 2 - 2.
Brian Hamlin scored the late second period goal for the
73's.
In the third Mooretown regain the lead for the last time
when Travis Mullen scored on a powerplay assisted by
Cody Stout and Spencer Lightfoot. Essex evened
things up on a powerplay then took the lead for the
first time at 15:27. Dan Bacon and Tony Spidalieri
scored for Essex. In the final minute of the game
Mooretown pulled their goalie for the extra man only to
have Essex widen the lead with an empty netter.
Derek Vivier scored the insurance goal for the 73's.
Mooretown outshot Essex 37 - 30. Seth Anderson
took the loss in net with Chris Zelko earning the win.
