Mooretown Flags
at Blenheim

action in Blenheim the Mooretown Flags took a 5 - 4 loss
in shoot against the Blades. In regulation time
the Flags allowed 3 powerplay goals to give Blenheim the
advantage. The first two were scored in the first
period at 1:59 and 9:08 with Owen Kent and Brady
Campbell scoring. Mooretown added a single as the
period was coming to a close. Brett Thompson
scored for the Flags.
With the
score at 2 - 1 heading into the second Blenhein 3rd
powerplay goal was scored at 11:15 to give them the 3 -
1 lead. At 16:19 Mooretown narrowed the gap on a
goal scored by Kurtis Glowa. Period would end with
the Flags trailing by one.
At 5:44
Blenheim widened their lead to two with Jeremy Luno
scoring. Mooretown continued to fight back and
Jason Teschke scored an unassisted goal to narrow the
gap at 14:52. Less than a minute later Alex Dawson
scored to tie things up and the score stayed the same
sending the game into overtime.
Overtime saw
no result and the two teams lined up for the shoot out.
Mooretown's Brett Thompson was the first shooter and
came up short and the same for Alex Sequin of Blenheim.
Mooretowns Mike Burns wasn't able to find the back of
the net and Brady Campbell step up and hit the mark to
give the Blades a 1 - 0 edge. The pressure was on
Jason Teschke and he missed the mark to give Blenheim
the win.
Jordan
Glashwish recorded the overtime loss with a total of 26
saves. Earning the win was Dylan Vanderpol with a
total of 29 saves.
The two
teams are back in action on Saturday in Mooretown for
the second game of the home/home series. Game time
7:30 pm.
