Mooretown vs Alvinston

The Flags dropped a 6 - 3 decision to the Alvinston Flyers last night in Alvinston.  This was the first game in the home/home series between the two teams.  Two powerplay goals in the first period by both sides evened the score heading into the second.  Adam Steadman scored for Alvinston and Brett Thompson scored for the Flags.

Early in the second period Mooretown took the lead for the first and only time of the game after Travis Harper scored the second Mooretown powerplay. Just over a minute later Alvinston went on a scoring freenzy and scored 5 goals to end the period leading 6 - 2.  Joel Jansen, Adam Steadman (2nd), Brock Hunter, Dylan Lightfoot and Nick Newman each scored  in the second.  In the third Mooretown scored the only goal in the third by Cody Stout.

The Flags and Flyers are back in action tonight in Mooretown for the second game of the home/home series with a puck drop at 7:30 pm.
