streak comes to an end with 5 - 4 loss in Essex

The Flags 6 game
winning streak came to an end Tuesday night in a
close contest against Essex 73's.
Essex went up 2 - 0 before their home crowd in the
first period. Tyler Raymont and Zack Miletic
scored for the 73's.
In the second the
Flags bounced back and scored 4 unanswered goals,
the first a shorthanded goal by Calab Harse assisted
by Spencer Bronzi and Jeff Sit. Aaron Schieman
added goal #2 for the Flags with help from Michael
Gray and Josh Teschke. Cody Hardman scored #3
from Cody Schmidt and Spencer Brozi and the final
second period goal was scored by Michael Gray on the
powerplay from Josh Teschke and Ryan Jennings.
The Flags would head into the third with a 2 goal
lead.
At the end of the
second the Flags took a penalty which Essex
capitalized on :55 seconds into the third when Tyler
Pope-Ferguson scored. The tying goal
came at the midway point of the period after Mark
Sobocan scored a shorthanded goal. Essex go
ahead goal came at 14:54 and they hung on to the end
to take the win with a final score of 5 - 4.
Mooretown went 1 for
6 on the powerplay, Essex went 1 for 5. Taylor
Speed with 26 saves earned his 4th win of the season
for the 73's.. Andrew Ganter is now 5 - 3 for
the season with 24 saves in this game.
The Flags are back at
home on Saturday when they host the Dresden Kings at
the Moore Sports Complex.
