In the second Belle River tied things up at 14:16 and late in the period at 19:34 added a second goal to take a 2 - 1 lead heading into the third period.  Chris DiNatale and James Shelton scored for the Canadiens.  Both sides went end to end and as the time was running out, the Flags pulled their goalie for the extra attacker but DiNatale got control and put it in to the empty net for his second of the night.

"We played good we had a couple of good chances around their net but we got to minimize our mistakes especially against these guys." said head coach Jordan Pennesi  "When you give the puck away in your own zone especially in the last minute you got to expect to lose the game."

Mooretown took two penalties with seconds remaining that gave Belle River a total of seven power play opportunities for the night.  Mooretown fought off all power play opportunities and went went scoreless on four power play opportunities of their own.

Belle River outshot the Flags 26 - 19.  Brandon Johnson took the loss in net making 23 saves.  Zakk Olvin made 18.

Belle River now lead the series 2 - 0 and the two teams will meet for game three in Belle River on Friday February 8 at 7:30 pm and return for game four on Saturday to Mooretown for a 7:30 start.

"We got to play our game plan in the next game" said Pennesi  "We kind of got away from it in the second period.  I told our guys they are a tough team,  good, strong and skilled. We got to play a chip in defensive hockey style game. So we got to get back to our game style and be ready to go on Friday."
