Mooretown Flags Lost to Belle River
November 14,  2012

The Mooretown Flags dropped a 5 - 2 decision against the Belle River Canadiens on Saturday in Mooretown.

Belle River took a 2 - 0 lead in the first, both sides shared singles in the second and in the third Belle River scored a pair before the Flags added their final goal.

Scoring both goals for the Flags was Riley Roberts with Jeff Schroeter assisting on both goals. Travis Mullen and Andrew Sokol also contributed on the goals.

Mike Ditty, Branden Larocque, Chris DiNatale, Andrew Synnott and Derek Haskell each scored for the Canadiens.

Mooretown went 0 for 6 on power play opportunities, Belle River went 1 for 6.

Mooretown outshot Belle River 44 - 35.  Zakk Olvin earned the win with 42 saves, Brandon Johnson took the loss with 30.

Belle River currently sits in second place in the standing race with a record of 16 wins, 3 loss, 1 OTL.  Mooretown is in seventh with a record of 7 wins, 8 loss, 3 OTL, 1 SOL.

Mooretown travels to Wheatley on Monday night for a 7:30 pm puck drop.


Saturday November 24 the Flags host Essex at 7:30 pm. The
Flags will honour Corunna’s Derek Drouin, Canada’s Bronze Medal Winner in High Jump at the 2012 Summer Olympic Games.

Derek who attends Indiana University will be home for during the US Thanksgiving weekend.  Derek will take part in the game by dropping the puck in the ceremonial faceoff.  Derek will be available for signing autographs throughout the evening.
