Came up Short against Essex 73's

After the ceremonial
puck drop honouring Bronze Medal Olympian Derek
Drouin the Flags opened the scoring at 1:12 on a
power play goal by Jeff Schroeter assisted by Mike
Burns.
"We played really
well, it was like a playoff type game." said
head coach Jordan Pennesi "It was good to see a fast
paced game. The first period was probably their best
period, the best of the year.
Second period Essex tied the game also scoring on
the power play with Matthew Herbert scoring for the
73's. Essex went on and scored two more in the
third to end the game defeating Mooretown 3 - 1.
Jordan Ryan and Corey Beaulieu scored for Essex in
the third.
Essex outshot the
Flags 38 - 21.
Brandon Johnson took
the loss in net for the Flags with a total of 35
saves.
Arren Romeril earned
the win with 20 saves.
Essex went 1 for 7 in
power play opportunities, Mooretown went 1 for 2.
The Flags are back in
action today when they travel to Kingsville for a
3:30 pm start. They return back home on Sat
December 1 when they host Wheatley.
