Flags Downed by Wheatley

On Sunday the Mooretown Flags travelled to Wheatley and came home with a 5-1 loss in Great Lakes Jr. C Hockey league action.

Wheatley scored 2 goals in the first and second and added a single in the third.  Mooretown lone goal came in the second period at 11:19 with Austin Hewton and Aiden Chapdalaine assisting.


Scoring for Wheatley were Devin Shannon, Brett Bowman, Jimmy Ciacelli and Lucas Raffoul who scored the final two goal that included a short handed goal.


The Flags are now 5-18-2-0 for the season.  Next up the Flags are hosting Wallaceburg on Saturday December 13.


On Saturday the Flags are also hosting the Mooretown Minor Hockey Association with several pre game and other activities planned throughout the night.


Mooretown Minor Hockey Night

Prior to the game an All Association Group Photo will be taken. The picture will be displayed in the Arena lobby to commemorate the inaugural season of the minor hockey association becoming known as the Mooretown Jr. Flags and Lady Flags.

All those wearing their jerseys (home or away) are invited to assemble on the ice for a Group photo. The photo will be taken at 6:15 prior to the Jr. C pregame warm-up.

Other Game Night Events Include:

All Mooretown Jr. Flags and Lady Flags players (from Timbit to Juvenile) who wear their team jersey will be granted free admission to the Flags game.

Tyke House League teams will be scrimmaging between the 1st and 2nd Periods.

A Chuck-A-Puck contest will take place between the 2nd and 3rd.

A canned food drive will take place at the game in support of Operation Christmas Tree.
