Mooretown Flags Dropped Third Game in Playoff Series Against Essex

The Flags can't solve the Essex 73's after taking a 5 - 2 loss in Essex Friday night.  Essex leads the first round series 3 games to 0.

Essex scored 2 unanswered goals in both the first and second period.  Ryan Lyle and Frankie White scored back to back power play goals in the third for the Flags and Essex's final goal was scored shorthanded in the last minute of play.

Tyler Scott scored 3 goals for the 73's, Dallas Pereira and Scott Bromley added singles.

Shots on goal were 42 - 20  in Essex's favour. 

Mooretown scored twice on six power play opportunities, Essex scored once on three chances.

Steven Taylor played one period in net for the Flags allowed 2 goals on 10 shots. Taylor was replaced by Brandon Johnson in the second who let in 3 goals on 32 shots. Noah Hedrick made 18 for Essex.

The two teams will meet tonight (Saturday) in Mooretown for game 4 of the playoff series.  Mooretown is in a must win situation.  Game time 7:30 pm.
