Mooretown Flags Celebrate Win over Dresden Kings

The Mooretown
Flags continue to battle back
from their slow start to the
season with their third win in
November in Great Lakes Jr. C
Hockey League.
Frankie White
making his first home game
appearance with the Mooretown
Flags on Saturday night scored 2
goals in the 3 - 1 win over
Dresden.
White from
Wyoming played for the Flags in
the 2012-13 season and after
playing one game in 2013-14 was
traded to Wallaceburg.
White was released from the
Lakers on November 7 and signed
back to the Flags with his first
game in Essex on November 11th.
White first goal was at 1:27 in
the opening period assisted by
Matt Brandon. Dresden
would tie the game at 5:21 with
Ross Krieger Scoring. The
final two goals were power play
goals the first in the second
period. Defenceman David Addley
banged one in from the blueline
assisted by Sam Jasmin and Ryan
Lyle. The final power play goal
was scored by White assisted by
Ethan Duppont at 13:52 in the
third period.
Dresden outshot
the Flags 46 - 33. Riley
Collins made many spectacular
saves to earn the win in net for
the Flags. Collins turned
away 45 shots. Former Flags
netminder Braden Palocz took the
loss made 30 saves.
Both teams had
their share of penalties with
Mooretown taking a total of
thirty-one minutes on eleven
infractions and Dresden was
handed thirty-three minutes on
twelve infractions.
Included in the penalty time was
five minute majors and game
misconducts for fighting in the
second period to Flags Ryan Lyle
and Dresden's Kevin Ritzer. The
pair dropped the gloves before a
faceoff.
Dresden was scoreless on seven
power play opportunities,
Mooretown went two for eight.
The Flags remain at the bottom
in the standings race with a
record of 5-12-1-0. They
are currently two points behind
Wallaceburg (5-10-0-3) and
Alvinston (6-12-0-1).
The Flags are
back in action tonight (Sunday
November 16) when they travel to
Amherstburg to take on the third
place Admirals. (11-8-0-0).

was released earlier this
month and signed by Dresden.
He was included in Saturday
line up for the Kings.

addition of Frankie White,
Spencer Bronzie was also
signed to the Flags on
November 11 but has yet to
appear.

during this game and
Assistant Coaches Brad Riley
and Corey Laframboise manned
the bench.
